On 26 July 2025, I was fortunate enough to attend the Wambugu ATC Exhibition in Nyeri. I can tell you right now, it was a real eye opener to every person who is interested in agriculture and agribusiness.
The theme this year focused on promoting climate-smart agriculture and trade initiatives for sustainable growth.
Wambugu ATC Exhibition
This an annual event that unites farmers, agri-tech firms, policymakers, and innovators. The exhibition shows how technologies can solve the problems Kenyan farmers experience today. This was my first event and the atmosphere was electrifying.
We had demo farms, field visits and lots of networking.

Notably, I was excited to go to the Lanchlan Kenya Limited demo farm. Their arrangement demonstrated viable approaches to blend climate-smart strategies – be it efficient irrigation system, or new advancements in crop protection. It was motivating to observe that technology, combined with traditional activities was effective. It maximized production and took care of the environment.

Moreover, the other exhibitors such as EA Seed Company gave information on farming techniques, drought tolerant seeds and organic input to the farmers. There was no doubt that climate smart agriculture is not that trendy term we usually use but, a solution to attain food security and sustainable agriculture in Kenya.
What can I say?
I left Nyeri as an optimistic person. Wambugu ATC is one of the events that show that climate change may be an obstacle to the success of our agriculture; however, attentive innovations and collaborations would help us succeed.
Finally, these are just a few ideas attained an Wambugu ATC that I really hope to apply on my own farm and pass on to you here on www.joytich.com!
